Perhaps, on the european jazz scene, a so prestigious piano-trio formation had never appeared and that, in some way, represents the sum of three distinct and strong personalities. The Kàla trio is made up of Rita Marcotulli, Alfredo Golino and Ares Tavolazzi. Each with an unmatched background and a truly unique story; after several and occasional collaborations on stages around the world, they create one of the most interesting and powerful projects from an artistic point of view of the last decade. Indaco Hanami is the title of their new record, now for Abeat. A superior disc, where the compositional element stands out and is supported by a solo flair, expressive depth, instrumental mastery and truly enviable interplay. The repertoire offers some original songs signed by Rita Marcotulli, one composed by all (Dialogues), and some reinterpretations of suggestive songs the italian song writer Pino Daniele ("Quando" and "Napule è"), and by the celebre composer of Soundtracks Nino Rora ("Romeo and Juliet"). A particularly inspired performance together with a recording that amazes for the refinement of some arrangements, and for the superior sound quality. Even audiophiles will know how to enjoy it.
