Luigi Martinale offers us a new work, supported as in the previous one, by a formidable rhythmic couple, composed of the Brazilian Zaza Desiderio on drums and the Russian Yuri Golobev on double bass; exceptional soloist Carlo Cocco Cantini on sax. A well-tested quartet that has made a name for itself even in the international arena with awards especially in Asia.
The surprise is represented by the involvement of an ensemble from the Ghedini Conservatory of Cuneo, directed by Bruno Mosso. A wonderful example of contamination and collaboration between a jazz quartet and a classical ensemble, the latter consisting of a string quartet and a wind trio. The result is extraordinary and somewhat suggestive. Elegance in the arrangements, excellent compositional vein on the part of the pianist and leader Luigi Martinale, a refined lyricism alternating with solisms of great impact and creativity. The songs, all original, follow one another with a wealth of inventions and great melodic balance. Excellent recording with very valuable stage layout. The lovers of beautiful sound will also thank.
"What you hear from their collaboration as a whole sounds natural, organic, inevitable. In short, it is music, without waste and without labels. Enviable".
